In 2017, I have decided to take a personal challenge and so in addition to joining Forget Me Not’s TRAFFICK STOPPERS to complete 5k in the 6th 7 Sunshine Coast Marathon & Community Run Festival, I will also be raising funds for Forget Me Not Australia. I want every step I take to help give back to community.
Forget Me Not plays a significant role in the protection of children who have been, or are at risk of being, trafficked specifically in Nepal, India and Uganda. Children are not a commodity and thankfully I am in a position to do something about it, no matter how seemingly small.
I choose Forget Me Not because like me, they believe all children (especially those not living with their families through no fault of their own) should feel loved and be cared for by their kin and communities. Children don’t belong in orphanages. They must have opportunities to make their dreams BIG and chase them wholeheartedly.
I care deeply because I was in foster care as a teenager. I care deeply because many of my friends grew up without their families. I care deeply because I am a mother. And I am forever grateful that my life is vibrant and full because I am connected to family, community and opportunity.
Please help me to help build brighter futures for children in Nepal, India and Uganda through the work of Forget Me Not Australia by giving whatever you can using the 'Give Now' button.
Your support will inspire and encourage me to train hard and the more people who know about my journey, the greater the impact, so please feel free to share my page with friends and family.
Thank you in advance for your generosity and I look forward to the impact we can make to the incredible work that Forget Me Not does raising children to be thriving, vibrant and connected to family, community and opportunity.
